About Special Events:
Kids Heart Challenge:
This is an annual event we do during gym class to help teach our students how exercise affects the heart and how they to stay fit for life! The money we raise during the event goes to the American Heart Association to support research and education initiatives that save lives in our community. In turn, based on the amount of money raised by the school, the American Heart Association gives US-games certificates to RPS to fund the purchase of new equipment for the physical education program.
The KHC Kickoff will be around the end of January. This is when information and collection envelopes will be sent home with the students. The event will be held during gym class. Volunteers will be needed for this event.
List of KHC incentives:
Update: Russell Primary School raised over $10,850 this year during our Kids Heart Challenge Event!! Shout out to kindergartner, Connor Scott, for being our top fundraiser! He collected $531.30 for the AHA! A huge thank you to everyone that participated, volunteered, and sent in donations.
